Four People Injured in Nine-Vehicle Fairbanks Car Accident

E-mail

Four People Injured in Nine-Vehicle Fairbanks Car Accident Anyone who has spent any time driving in Alaska or in any cold climate will understand that doing so can be difficult when winter weather turns for the worse.  Every aspect of driving becomes a challenge, including the traction of the vehicle, visibility and exercising proper judgment.  It appears that weather was at least a factor in a nine-vehicle Fairbanks car accident that sent four people to the hospital Monday, but police continue to investigate the incident to identify a definitive cause.

According to authorities, this nine-vehicle Fairbanks car accident quickly turned into a pileup in the southbound lane at the intersection of the Steese Highway and 3rd Avenue on Monday morning.  The reason is believed to be because a motorist slowed down because of difficulty with visibility, and the vehicle behind that motorist rear-ended that driver.  From there, seven additional vehicles became involved in the accident.  Four people were sent to the hospital with injuries that varied in severity, and none of the names of those involved were released.

Clearly, more information would be necessary in order to determine fault for this Fairbanks car accident.  However, once fault is determined, it’s possible that those who were injured could file Alaska personal injury lawsuits against those who were at fault for the crash.  If such claims are filed and are successful, the injured plaintiffs could be awarded damages that compensate them for their medical costs, their lost income and their pain and suffering.
