Downtown Anchorage Car Accident Injures Three People

E-mail

When Alaska car accidents occur at certain times of the day, it always gives rise to certain suspicions in terms of whether or not alcohol was involved.  While no indication was given in regards to a downtown Anchorage car accident that occurred early Sunday morning, police are continuing to investigate the situation.  What is known is that as a result of the latest Anchorage car accident, three people were injured to varying degrees, and one person suffered what was described as 'life-altering' injuries.

According to police, the accident took place at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of East 6th Avenue and Ingra Street.  Specifically, a northbound Chevy Malibu slammed into the broad side of a Pontiac at the intersection.  The driver of the Pontiac, 25-year-old Michael Jack, of Anchorage, was temporarily trapped in the wreckage, but rescue workers managed to free him.  Mr. Jack's passenger, Omar Johnson, was thrown from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.  22-year-old John Farmer of Anchorage was driving the Chevrolet and was treated at a local hospital and released.  Early suspicions are that one of the vehicles ran a red light at the intersection.
